Fire Awareness/Warden Training

We are working in partnership with Safesmart Ltd. to provide quality training specifically designed to assist both employers and employees meet their obligations within the current fire safety legislation (and related guidance). The training focuses on those activities identified by employers as being the responsibility of all members of staff, or of those individuals nominated to undertake a more involved fire safety role - fire warden/marshal.

 

Basic Awareness Training

Basic Awareness Training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, aimed at all employees to assist them in identifying and reducing the risk that fire presents in the workplace. The course covers:

  • Principles of combustion, fire spread and fire prevention.
  • Hazard and deficiency reporting.
  • Fire drills and evacuation.
  • Actions on discovering fire.
  • Raising the alarm.

Fire Warden Training

Fire Warden Training takes approximately 40 minutes to complete and is designed to enable your staff to meet the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The course covers:

  • Principles of combustion, fire spread and fire prevention.
  • Hazard and deficiency reporting.
  • Fire drills and evacuation.
  • Actions on discovering fire.
  • Raising the alarm.
  • Basic principles of risk assessment.
  • Means of escape principles.
  • Review of current legislation.
  • The role of the fire warden.
  • Workplace fire safety.
  • Human behaviour in a fire situation.
  • Firefighting equipment (and practical use).
